The principles of Ayurveda are immortal. Ayurveda comes from two Sanskrit words &#8211; ayu, meaning \u201c<strong>life<\/strong>\u201d, and Veda, meaning \u201c<strong>knowledge<\/strong>\u201d. Thus, Ayurveda means \u201c<strong>knowledge of life<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The two objectives of Ayurveda:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To prolong life and promote perfect health (add years to life and life to years).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To completely eradicate disease and dysfunction from the body.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Life\nis a combination of&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Body (SHARIRA)<br>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3 Doshas: &#8211; VATA, PITTA &amp; KAPHA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7 Dhatus: &#8211; RAS, RAKTA, MAMSA, MEDA, ASTHI, MAJJA, SHUKRA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 Malas: &#8211; MUTRA, VISHTA, SWED<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Senses (INDRIYA)<br>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>5 Organs of Senses (GYANENDRIYAS) &#8211; Ears, Skin, Eyes, Tongue, Nose<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5 Organs of Action (KARMENDRIYAS) \u2013 Pada (feet), Pani (hand), Payu (rectum), Upastha (genitals), Vak (Mouth)<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mind (MAN)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consciousness &#8211; (ATMA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The integrated functioning of these four\nresults in a perfect life.&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/maharshiatreya.com\/ayurveda\/\">Ayurveda<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;takes\nthe individual as a whole and re-establishes harmony between all the\nconstituents of life. Life established in perfect balance means perfect health.\nThe overall purpose of <strong>Ayurvedic\nTreatment<\/strong> is to develop the highest states of consciousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>PRAKRUTI \/ PRAKRTI \/ PRAKRITI\n(Constitution)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>According to Ayurveda, there are 7 constitutions. It means whole human race can be divided in to seven constitutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Following are the few important factors in deciding constitution of an individual:<br>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Predominance of Dosha in the womb of mother at the time of pregnancy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Environment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Climate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food habits of mother<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mental and emotional condition of mother<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Constitution remains same for life time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Constitution is very important in determining individual&#8217;s health &amp; disease condition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>PANCHAMAHABHUTA<\/strong> (Proto-Elements)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Subjects cover by Ayurveda:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The word \u2018<strong>Ayurveda\u2019<\/strong>\nis basically associated with the longevity i.e. \u2018the science of life\u2019 and it\ncan also be said as the holistic alternative science from India. It is more\nthan 5,000 years old and it is believed as the oldest field of medicine that\nhas become the foundation for others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>That which is beneficial or damaging to society<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>That which is beneficial or damaging to the individual<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>That which prolongs life.<br><br><strong>The three goals of Life are<\/strong>:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A long and healthy life<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wealth and success in society<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enlightenment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Fulfillment of these three goals results in\nhappiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ayurvedic Treatment<\/strong> deals with etiological factors, the signs and<br>symptoms of disease and the management of both health and diseases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The<br>definition of the concept of health in Ayurveda is holistic. \u201cSwastha\u201d (health)<br>means to be \u201cestablished in the Self,\u201d that is in the self-referral activity of<br>the unified field of all the laws of nature.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ayurvedic Definition of healthy individual<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ayurvedic definition of a healthy\nindividual is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Samadoshah, samagnish cha, samadhatu\nmala kriyah, prasannatmendriyamanah, svastha ityabhidyiyate<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe whose doshas are in balance, whose\nappetite is good, whose bodily tissues are functioning normally, whose\nexcretory functions are in balance, and whose self, mind and senses remain full\nof bliss, he is called a healthy person.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Scriptures, Texts and Oral Traditions in\nAyurveda are ascribed by the leading authors Dhanvantari, Charka, Vagbhata,\nKashyap, Sushruta, Sarangdhara Samhita and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Worldwide known \u2013 <strong>Ayurveda<\/strong> is a holistic as well as comprehensive system of medicine\navailable today. During earlier times, the sages, surgeons, physicians were the\ndeeply devoted people who saw human health as an important part of the\nspiritual life.
