One of the most popular Pok\u00e9mon ever is finally arriving in the last mainline monster hunter<\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Greninja, originally introduced to the world of Pok\u00e9mon as part of Gen VI, in Pok\u00e9mon X <\/em>and Y<\/em>, has proven to be one of the most popular pocket monsters ever. What an ambitious froggy-gecko-thing it is. And now, thanks to a forthcoming weekend tera raid event, it\u2019ll be showing up in Scarlet<\/em> and Violet<\/em> as one of the featured seven-star raids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting on January 27, and running until January 29, you\u2019ll have the last weekend of the month to try to find your way into an online raid to battle a Greninja. It\u2019ll be a Poison Tera Type, and it\u2019ll arrive level 100, with that seven-star mighty goodness. All you need to do is have three other friends, or fluke an online raid that doesn\u2019t feature three concerning idiots who roll in with their Magikarp and Scatterbug buddies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is all part of Scarlet<\/em> and Violet<\/em>\u2019s regular weekend events, where special Pok\u00e9mon that aren\u2019t part of the games\u2019 Pok\u00e9dex are briefly possible to add to your teams. And if it\u2019s anything like the previous weekends, if you miss the forthcoming weekend, there will likely be another in a month or so. But we don\u2019t know for sure, so don\u2019t get complacent!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like\u00a0the Charizards\u00a0the (fraught) game has previously featured in its special weekend tera raids, Greninja is appearing in the game with \u201cthe Mightiest Mark,\u201d which is to say you can only catch one of them per save file. Because it\u2019s special, see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why is Greninja so special? Well, it\u2019s the final form of one of XY<\/em>\u2019s starters, Froakie, which always brings a certain amount of affection. Add to this that in the anime, Ash had one as part of his team, which had the bonkers ability to Battle Bond\u2014which is to say, it could merge its consciousness with Ash to form the imaginatively named Ash-Greninja, a half-Ash, half-Pok\u00e9mon monstrosity<\/em> that should have been killed with fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was then much controversy when Ash let his Greninja go, and a much later reunion didn\u2019t feature a reappearance by the Ash-Greninja Brundlefly. But will it appear during Ash\u2019s final 11-episode run on the anime? I honestly couldn\u2019t care less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
